What is Silicone Sealant

Silicone sealant is a paste made of polydimethylsiloxane as the main raw material, supplemented with a crosslinking agent, filler, plasticizer, coupling agent, and catalyst in a vacuum state. Reacts with water in the air and cures to form elastic silicone rubber.

One-component silicone glass glue is an ointment-like material that cures to a tough, rubber-like solid upon exposure to moisture in the air. Silicone glass glue has a strong bonding force, and high tensile strength, and at the same time has the characteristics of weather resistance, vibration resistance, moisture resistance, odor resistance, and adaptability to large changes in cold and heat. Coupled with its wider applicability, it can realize the bonding between most building materials, so its application value is very large. Silicone glass glue does not flow due to its own weight, so it can be used for joints on the top or side walls without sagging, collapsing, or flowing away. It is primarily used for bonding dry and clean metal, glass, most grease-free woods, silicone resins, vulcanized silicone rubber, ceramics, natural and synthetic fibers, and many painted plastic surfaces. Good-quality silicone glass glue will not squeeze out or change its physical properties when used below zero degrees Celsius.

use

(1) Acid glass glue.

1. It is suitable for sealing, blocking, leak-proof, and weather-proof. It is suitable for both indoors and outdoors (the indoor effect is better), and the effect of anti-seepage and leak-proof is remarkable.

2. Bonding various interior decorations of automobiles, including metal, fabric, organic fabric, and plastic.

3. Engage gaskets on heating and cooling equipment.

4. Install ribs without screw holes, nameplates, and paint and plastic materials on the metal surface.

5. Seal the window on the oven door, the flue on the gas appliance, the pipe joint, and the access door.

6. Provide instant forming anti-leak pads for gearboxes, compressors, and pumps. 7. Seal the cabin and windows.

8. Sealing of glass windows of trailers and truck cabs.

9. Bonding and sealing equipment components.

10. Form an anti-wear coating.

11. Inlaid and filled thin metal sheet laminates, pipe networks, and equipment casings.

(2) Neutral weather-resistant adhesive is suitable for weather-resistant sealing of various curtain walls, especially recommended for weather-resistant sealing of glass curtain walls, aluminum-plastic panel curtain walls, and stone dry hanging; 2. Metal, glass, aluminum, tiles, organic glass, coated glass 3. Joint sealing of concrete, cement, masonry, rock, marble, steel, wood, anodized aluminum and painted aluminum surfaces. Primer is not required in most cases.

(3) Silicone structural adhesives are mainly used for structural or non-structural bonding between metal and glass of glass curtain walls.

2. It can directly connect the glass with the surface of the metal component to form a single assembly component, which meets the design requirements of the curtain wall with fully hidden or semi-hidden frames.

3. Structural bonding and sealing of insulating glass.

Restrictions All kinds of silicone glass adhesives will be subject to the following restrictions when used:

1. It is not suitable for construction in places soaked in water for a long time;

2. It is not compatible with materials that will leak grease, plasticizers, or solvents;

3. Frosting or The wet surface cannot be bonded;

4. It cannot be cured in a completely closed place;

5. The surface of the substrate is not clean or firm.

Acid glass glue has the following restrictions:

Acid silicone glass glue will corrode or cannot bond copper, brass (and other copper-containing alloys), magnesium, zinc, electroplated metals (and other zinc-containing alloys), and masonry materials recommended Do not use acid glass glue on finished articles and on carbide substrates. Good adhesion will not be obtained when using this product on materials made of methyl methacrylate, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polyethylene, and polytetrafluoroethylene. bonding effect and good compatibility.

Acid glass glue is not suitable for connections that move more than 25% of the joint width. It is also best not to use ordinary acid glass glue on the structural glass. In addition, acid glass glue should not be used in places where there is abrasion and substantial disadvantages. It is not suitable for construction when the surface temperature of the base material of silicone acid glue exceeds 40°C.
